Thanks to Scott there is much more quality in my ashtanga yoga practice. I particularly appreciate his individual approach to students. Not only is he a great yoga teacher, he is also a very compassionate human-being. With his asana adjustments, guided meditation and pranayama practices, Scott has brought a lot of joy, clarity and confidence to my practice. Katya

Moments in Ashtanga Yoga
A Healing & Mindful Approach to Practice
A one-day journey into the heart of Ashtanga yoga, where posture, breath, philosophy, and subtle movement become a healing and mindful experience.

Scott Johnson
How do we individually approach yoga in relationship to our own lives? Can we see deeper into how our yoga practice helps us nurture breath and movement awareness? How does philosophy integrate with how we see and act in the world?
What you will gain
This workshop is more than a set of techniques, it’s an invitation to step deeper into your own practice. By the end of the day, you will leave with:
A Deeper Connection to Practice
You’ll experience Ashtanga as the integration of psychology, movement and breath. One that lets go of it being a rigid sequence, and reveals it as a practice that develops presence, intimacy, and healing.
Practical Tools for Mindful Living
From posture and transition awareness to pranayama, subtle movement and philosophy, you’ll leave with tangible ways to bring steadiness, clarity, and compassion into both practice and life.
Inspiration & Community
Rooted in the historic home of Ashtanga in the UK, this day offers the chance to learn, listen, and share in a supportive space with like minded people, leaving you inspired and connected.

The Moments In Ashtanga Yoga one day workshop includes:
Together we’ll explore the roots of Ashtanga yoga and how its wisdom applies to our lives today, while learning mindful principles of movement that bring safety, clarity, and awareness.
Blending philosophy with modern movement insight, Scott will show how practice becomes more sustainable and nourishing when approached with tenderness rather than force.
This one-day workshop is a space for dialogue, discovery, and inspiration, offering tools you can carry back into your daily life and practice.

Beginning with a short mindfulness and breathing practice we will explore how spinal movement develops in relation to the breath, connecting postures from the first and second half of the Primary Series. What you will gain from the retreat
As we navigate the beginning of a new year, Scott will guide you through the many elements of yoga and how they help us to become more present in our lives. Through the practices of Ashtanga Yoga, meditation, technique and philosophy we will look at how their integration helps us find our own way, our own unique movement and our own connection to ourselves and the world.
Scott Johnson will draw on his 20 years of experience teaching Mysore-style Ashtanga Yoga and Mindfulness to shine a light on your yoga practice and help you discover fresh insights.

‘I have been playing with yoga on and off for close to 20 years. Over that time I have lost range of motion and mobility. As I have struggled with poses and positions, yoga teachers have always told me “Yoga is a journey”. I thought it must be a very painful trip. I attended Scott’s retreat in Salento and in a week Scott set me on a path to recover 20 years of range of motion and mobility. I now believe that yoga is a journey and Scott is showing me the path. Finally someone who is guiding my journey. With timely adjustments, insightful appraisals of physical limitations and encouragement, Scott has brought joy and most importantly hope and belief to my practice.’
