My Journey Back to Wholeness

Enrica

I discovered the practice when I was a runner...

I was immediately fascinated by the power of the breath combined with movement and the tangible benefits of integrating yoga with running.

I was impatient, eager to be assigned new asanas, constantly competing with myself, far from accepting what my body could offer in that moment.

At 39, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. That’s when my yoga journey really began.
I had two surgeries and went through tough times.
They told me, "Miss, you will never practice the same way again."

Yoga has always been with me.
Every test, every needle was an opportunity to master my breath, reassured by its steady rhythm.
An opportunity to find a safe space inside myself—a place always accessible, where my restless mind became a clear sky.

SO HAM OM SO HAM: I am that, I am the universe, I am part of it, I am connected to that infinite source.

When I returned to my mat, I started from the very beginning of the series—just a few poses at a time, often adapted.
I was finally humble and infinitely grateful to my body, which had carried me this far, fully present in that very instant.

Instead of feeling like a part of me was missing, through yoga, I learned to rediscover myself as whole more complete than ever before.

Lately, I became a yoga teacher to share with others the beauty of this powerful practice and help them connect with their breath and their bodies.

The journey I am taking with yoga is an integral part of my healing process because, as epigenetics teaches us, what we do, think, and how we take care of ourselves has a significant impact on our health. So, an hour of yoga is not just an hour of yoga; its benefits have a lasting effect that our physical and psychological health can fully enjoy. And even though our genetic makeup may provide certain information, we are able to change it through our actions and choices.

I’d like to be a message of hope and trust:

If I can do the bridge (Urdhva Dhanurasana), anybody can...
