Meditation Taught Me How to Rediscover Life

Watch Stuart's Powerful Film
“Just sit down for ten minutes. Breathe gently. Look at a wall. Slow down and the answers will start to come.”
Stuart Mulholland grew up inside the strict world of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
As a teenager he was told he could not question “the truth.” When he finally did, he was forced to leave his family home at 16 — losing his community, his stability, and the only world he had ever known.
This film shares Stuart’s journey of leaving a high-control religious group, rebuilding his life from nothing, and eventually discovering meditation as a way to heal the deep patterns formed in childhood.
For anyone who has experienced trauma, spiritual confusion, or the pain of leaving a religious community, Stuart’s story offers a gentle path toward understanding and inner peace.
The Turning Point: A Meditation Class in West London
Years after leaving his family and faith behind, Stuart walked into a small meditation class in West London.
For the first time, he encountered a spiritual practice without dogma — no imposed beliefs, no rules to obey, no fear of punishment.
Just sitting.
Just breath.
Just himself.
Meditation became the way he rebuilt his inner world.
It helped him soften long-held anger, understand his parents’ beliefs with compassion, and reconnect with a sense of home inside his own life.
What Meditation Taught Him
Over the past 30 years, meditation has helped Stuart:
Stuart's story shows what becomes possible when we slow down, listen inwardly, and trust the quiet voice beneath the noise of the past.
