Finishing the practice

By the end of this lesson you’ll:

  1. Learn the importance of slowing down at the end of a yoga practice.
  2. Know why we relax at the end of practice.
  3. Notice the difference from when you started.

The practice of Ashtanga yoga, which you're learning, is dynamic. As important as it is to strengthen and flex the body, it’s just as important to be able to learn to let go of the body too. 

In this lesson you'll learn how to finish your practice like we started, with simple breath awareness. This really helps to bring a mindful quality to the forefront, where you notice the difference between where you started and where you ended. This is how yoga works in your life. 

We end the physical practice with a simple extension and flexion of the spine, then repeat the focus 12 practice. We then lift the whole body off the floor for 10 breaths and finish with a short relaxation.
